This week for reading we were finishing up our book and novel study sides. The last task for the novel study slides was a synthesising one. Basically for this task we had to fill in a template about are characters in our story we had to write what there words were what they were like and what there actions were then we had to finish up by putting everything together and seeing what type of person they were. This week for maths we had to answer 4-5 questions for problem solving in pairs. The person I worked with was Eilish. The create task for maths is to do the maths then we share it infront of our maths group. After the group is finished we get to ask them questions like: I disagree because ... This week for reading we continued on with reading our novels. The novel that I have been reading is called holes. The book holes so far is about a boy who's great great grandfather got a curse put on him and now he thinks that's why he has bad luck. His father is trying to make a project that is recycling old shoes. He stole shoes from a baseball player and he couldn't got to jail so he went to a camp called camp green lake. They have to dig massive holes and the can only have 4 minute showers. Here is my create task for this week. Thank you for reading my blog.

 Hello and welcome back to my blog.

This week for maths I'm going to be talking to you about how to be a good maths mate. The first thing that is good to do when your in a pair is talk to the person and make sure they know what to do and that your on the same page as them. The second thing to do is to help the person out if they are struggling and make sure that if he or she doesn't know then you explain what you did so they can do the next question with you. The last thing is to make sure you listen to both yours and your buddy's ideas and thinking.

This week for writing we continued on with speeches. Not only did we have to write them we also had to finish them because we were  sharing them on Wednesday. Here is a paragraph of my speech.  

People going through poverty usually rely on their environment for survival that is why environmental problems affect them more.

Natural disasters destroy their homes, farms and businesses which can cause more problems and can push people into extreme poverty.

But it's not just the environment that can cause poverty.  There are so many different things that can cause poverty such as: little or no access to jobs and  access to basic needs All though there are so many more reasons to cause extreme poverty these are the ones I'm going to cover.

This week for writing we continued to write our speeches. For the speeches topics we could choose out of 4 different things health and wellbeing, quality education, zero hunger and poverty. I choose to do mine on poverty. This week we worked on the next to goals which were damaged cause and the overall challenge.

Here is what I have written so far? 

Are you able to access everything you need in your life? 

It's scary  to think that 736 million people are suffering from extreme poverty. A Lot of which are surviving on less than $1.90 a day. In the middle east and North Africa the numbers of people living in extreme poverty has nearly doubled in two years.  Before Covid-19 the “ baseline projections suggest that 6 percent “ of the world's population would still be living in extreme poverty in 2030.

 Hello and welcome back to my blog.

This week for maths the goal was: use multiplication and division strategies to compare fraction sizes with whole numbers. 

For this goal we went into pairs (My partner was Arielle ) and we had to work out each question. once we had finished them we shared them to the class to see if we had the same working out and if we didn't we could each explain what we did differently. This week for reading we read a book about robots. The story was about whether robots are good or bad to have in the world and if its bad they take over some jobs. The author wrote this story and she only had negative comments on it she said if we don't have a job and we have nothing to look ford to we would be like domestic animals living at home. For the create we had to make a screencastify in pairs. I made mine with felicity. We also had to make our screencastify like we were talking in a conversation. Thank you for reading my blog.

This week for writing the goal was: Use a range of written features to engage the audience support ideas with detail.  

The create task for this was to create a google drawing and to make a few tables so that we could find and learn about adverbial phrases,dialogue and complex sentences. For my create take I made a poster that had  tables I wrote in some adverbial phrases,dialogue and complex sentences that I had thought of. The second task was to go through and read Hansel and Gretel. After we had done that we did the same thing that we did for the other one. Here are some examples for the adverbial phrases, dialogue and complex sentences:  Adverbial phrases

This week for maths we got sorted into math buddies and did a problem solving. The problem solving was to do with a bike and a bike trake. For this task we had to work out how much it would cost to have 3 tree stumps removed with 20% off. We had to work out what the cost would be to get all of these tree stumps. To ask questions we had use question cards so that we could ask good questions.

This week for reading we had to analyse a text. The text that we analysed was little red riding hood. The create task that we did was we made a word bank a word bank is were you find different book and find different feelings asking questions noticing imaging checking tasting and things like that. The other create  task was to red through little red riding hood and we had to highlight the text were we though she had used her feeling or she had asked a question or noticed something. This week for writing we were focusing on the fantastics grammaristics and the boomtastics. The story we focused on this week was Hansel and Gretel. We had to write a Hansel and Gretel story but in our own words. We had a table that had some similes and adjectives. We also made a Vocabulary bank about the sugar/Witch house in Hansel and Gretel. here are some of the words from our vocab bank: sugar coated,Sugar  filled,Edible and things around that. This week for maths we did a maths problem solving. One of the questions was does kaupeka make up more or less then 1/5 of the school. We answered it like this we went 36 divided by 5=7.2  and then we went 360 divided by 5=72 so the final answer we got was yes kaupeka does make more then 1/5 of the school.
