Last Tuesday we travelled for around 1 1/2 hours to arrive at Wainui. To get to the actual campsite we had to hike up hills this took around 2 1/2 hours but it was fun. The first thing we had to do was to unload our bags and make our beds it was pretty hot outside so we went outside to play before our first activity. This is basically what we did for 4 days. On the last night we had to reflect on our camp. The questions we had to answer were what we learnt, what our fav things were, what we found challenging and something that we were grateful for. here are my answers. ↓
What I learnt at camp: For the past few days I have learnt a few things like to make new friends when we were not with our friends for activities. How to properly jump of rocks high and low. How to kayak, Build stretchers with sticks tarps and rain jackets and help people that are in trouble and how to shoot an arrow.
My favourite thing at camp: Was meeting the instructors Duffy Tay Grandma and Izzy + more. playing games with my group and sometimes others and eating dessert. I also enjoyed the freetime to play and catch up with our friends.
What I found challenging: The first 2 days that we were there I found it challenging when we went into our groups because I didn't really know anyone But I also found out that they were actually funny and cool to hang with. I also think that it was challenging not having all of my friends in the same bunk room at night. I also found driving up the hills challenging because they were quite high and I couldn't look down because it made me feel sick.
Something I am grateful for: I am grateful for all the teachers and parent helps that help cooked dinner breakfast dessert and lunch, the parent helps for coming to activities with us the instructors my friends for helping me when I was nervous even though they were nervous too.
Thank you so much for reading my blog I hope you learnt what I did at camp.
Have you ever been to wainui???
