Kindness t-shirt

Hi guys I'm back

Today I'm going to be sharing with you what we have been doing for the past weeks. We have been making t-shirts on paper or on our chrome book's. These t-shirts are for our value assembly. We are going to have a jar in the office that says #choosekind the peer mediation people can give you a card that says why you have been great and then you can put it in the jar. The teachers can also give you these cards for being kind, being a good role modal, and showing respect for everyone in the school. everyone has to make a t-shirt and the winning t-shirt gets printed onto a real t-shirt. If you get your name pulled out of the jar that means that you will win the t-shirt and can wear it to school.

Have you ever made a kindness T-shirt?

Tech

For the past few weeks we have been going to Linwood college for tech. Tech is were you can make all different things like food, plastics metal and sewing. For food so far we have made pizza tower,  breakfast in a cup, pasta, wraps, hot chicken salad bun and a omelette.  In plastics they have made a dice, key chain and they are working on  a stand for anything. In wood works they have made a wooden key chain and they are working on a wooden box. No one knows what we are going to make in sewing because there isn't enough students for a group. The teachers are Mrs Hubbard, Mr Osborn and Mr Pledge. I personally really enjoy going to tech and I can't wait to go next time

Have you ever been to tech?

Art

For the past few weeks we have been doing art.  The art we have been doing is visual . The first step was to take a picture of us thinking the 2nd step was to print the photo out a glue it on the paper 3rd step was to draw four separate lines 5th step was to draw words that showed our self values. After that  we drew some pictures that matched the words we had chosen. I really enjoyed doing this art and I hope we could do it again some time.

Have you ever done visual art?

South Sudan

This week we have been doing R.E on South Sudan. If you haven't heard that  South Sudan and many other countries are still facing conflict. Conflict is affecting many families, Homes and life's. We are lucky enough that we don't have to face conflict anymore and we can be healthy. Here is a list of countries that are still facing conflict. Over all I think conflict is very sad and know families should be facing this.

1.North Korea
2. Iraq
3. Sudan
4. Russia

I learnt that many people are still facing conflict and  I didn't even know what this was. I also learnt the we shouldn't  take things for granted because people around the world aren't as lucky as us. They don't have the right education to get a job which is sad because they aren't going to make money to live a happy healthy life.

and there is a whole lot more to

Have you ever done R.E on conflict?

Biography

Hi and welcome back to my blog. This week we have been working on biography's. We each got to choose some that we thought showed greatness or is a great leader.  I choose Sophie Pascoe to do my biography on.  The first step was to go on a planning template and write down some ideas that we had. The second step was to write the biography and the third step is to present it.  I enjoyed writing my biography and I hope we can another one later on this year.

Do you like writing biography? if you do/ have tell me who you wrote yours about

Place mat

Hi guys I' m going to be talking about my placemat. This week for reading we have been doing a placemat. A place mat is where you find four people that you want to learn about.  For example, if I choose Donald Trump Mother Teresa pope Francis and Walt Disney I would have to find out what makes them a great leader learner or how they show greatness.  After you have done that you find out what they all have in common and put that information in the middle. after you have done that you have to do an elevator pitch about one person. You have to answer the questions on the page when you have done all of that you go onto flip grid a take a video  of yourself reading it. That's  what a elevator pitch and a placemat is. I will have a picture of my place mat down below.

Our magnificent market

 Our magnificent market

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance MnMs for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because We learned in the first challenge that we were communicating very well so we tried to improve our communication and we did we were able to make a very strong chair it could hold all five m&ms and that was good because we could eat the M&Ms since our table didn’t fall over.

In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Science tech

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made 45 five stress balls and they sold out super fast probably in the first 30 mins. We made 56.50 c as a team to give to a charity.

Reflection

My highlight from this PBL was Sitting at the stand  and going to other peoples stands. It was so fun

Next time I would  Make some more stress balls so that we could sell more. I would also buy more bags of flour because we ran out really fast.
